In questi giorni si parla di riaprire le idrovie Venete, collegare Venezia con Padova fornendo i servizi necessari all' imbarco/sbarco di container. Finalmente sarà possibile costruire imbarcazioni capaci di muoversi agilmente lungo fiumi e canali. Tanti temi da affrontare, molti interessi in gioco. Giustamente risulta necessario studiare la fattibilità di tale progetto, vantaggi e svantaggi, essere competitivi in un mondo sempre più dinamico, trasportare merci nel rispetto dell' ambiente garantendo un servizio efficiente, una logistica che abbatte i tempi di carico/scarico.
Le merci in arrivo da Cina, India e Oriente in generale, trasportate su navi enormi, attraversano Suez, e dopo il Mar Mediterraneo per convenienza imboccano il Mare Adriatico raggiungendo i porti maggiori (Venezia, Trieste, Isola, Fiume, ecc). L' idea è quella di usare imbarcazioni fin dove possibile (l' idrovia Veneta ne è un esempio), trasportando molte più merci rispetto i camion e inquinando meno, qualora non sia più possibile usare battelli è preferibile la ferrovia riducendo la mole di traffico nelle autostrade e quindi garantire maggior sicurezza ai cittadini in viaggio.
